# Special Theory of Relativity

To understand the concept of Lorentz Transformation one need three basic supporting physical concepts, which are given below;

- Speed of light in all inertial frames remain constant, it means speed doesn’t change due to relative motion.
- There are two frame of references in which S’ is moving in +ve X -direction relative to S with velocity v.
- The difference between Galilean and Lorentz Transformation is that here time is not absolute, means time varies with relative motion as other spatial coordinates (x,y,z). In Galilean it was assumed that time is absolute and no effects of relative motion.

S and S’ both are inertial frame, and S’ frame moving in +Ve X -direction with relative speed v. You will see rest of the details in video and for your information/help all these points are mentioned in the hand written notes which you can download from here. Link is given below the video. For any problem you can comment and share the thoughts.

## Lorentz Transformation

Lorentz transformation is a set of four equations, based on two postulates of special theory of relativity. The first postulates says about the speed of light and second says about the in variances of science laws in both the frame of references.
